Guild setup

Connect your Discord guild to SIGILAR so you can configure Access Rules and tools.

Prerequisites

• You must be an administrator (or have sufficient permissions) on the Discord server
• The SIGILAR bot must be invited to the server with appropriate permissions (e.g. Manage Roles)

Connecting a guild

1. From the Admin Console dashboard or Administration page, go to the guild setup flow
2. Select the Discord server you want to connect
3. Authorise the bot if prompted
4. The guild is linked to your SIGILAR account

Bot requirements

The bot typically needs:

• Manage Roles — to assign and revoke roles
• View Channels — to read channel structure
• Send Messages — for notifications (if applicable)

Role position

For the bot to assign roles, its highest role must be above the roles you want it to manage in Discord’s role hierarchy. If a role is above the bot’s highest role, it will appear as not assignable in Access Rules. Move the bot’s role higher in Server Settings → Roles if needed.
